These banana flowers are grown on certified organic farms without any chemical pesticides and fertilizers as might be used in conventional farming. No preservatives, growth hormones, GMO seeds or artificial colours have been used on them. We are continuously working towards ensuring that the banana flowers reach our stores, within 24 hours of harvesting.

Studies show that the most commonly used pesticides in commercial banana farming are thiabendazole, endosulfan, carbendazim, chlorpyrifo, and azoxystrobin, which leave their traces on the flowers too. Studies indicate that these chemicals might cause problems such as headache, vomiting, nausea, dizziness and hormonal disorders.

Appearance: Banana flowers are beautiful, large, teardrop shaped flowers with a dark pink multiple layered cover. They have a tart or umami flavour. These banana flowers are 100% organically grown, without using any artificial methods of farming. Because of this, they may vary in shape, size and colour. There might be slight colour variation due to heat.

Shelf Life:

Under room temperature, banana flowers last for 2-3 days, depending on how raw they are.

Refrigerated banana flowers can last for about 4-5 days, if packed in a sealed plastic bag.
